Bernese Rottie Build Information

The Bernese Rottie is a mix between a purebred Rottweiler and a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog. Originally bred as working dogs for herdsmen in the unforgiving Swiss Alps, the Bernese Rottie is a large and powerful dog that lounges when not working, and requires a lot of room. They are excellent and capable guard dogs, and can weigh up to 130 pounds.

The Bernese Rottie is quite intelligent and displays a wide array of talents, from guarding and police work, to carting, herding and weight-pulling. It is a breed that will not only alert the owner if an intruder is present, but will readily attack said intruder.
