The American Alsatian, or Alsatian Shepalute, is a large shepherd-like dog that is extremely intelligent and loyal to its human family. This is a fairly new breed that originated in the United States and was developed for the sole purpose of serving as companion dogs.
American Alsatians can grow to anywhere between 75 and 120 pounds, with males being larger than females. While some of these dogs resemble German Shepherds, others look much like Dire wolves. They have a medium-length double-coat that can be black sable, silver, cream or gold. Their eyes are almond-shaped and can be either light brown or yellow.
Personality
The American Alsatian is a well-behaved dog that rarely barks or whines. While they are excellent with children and other household pets, they are quite aloof to strangers. These dogs have a low activity level and are extremely calm, even when they are left alone for long periods of time.
