Although any dog has the potential to be aggressive, there are breeds known as “ aggressive dog breeds ” and these are the breeds which are more prone to show aggressive behavior. When thinking about an aggressive dog breed, which breeds would come to your mind as being aggressive? The breeds which are actually the most aggressive may shock you.

 Number One Most Aggressive Dog Breed: Dachshund

The number one most aggressive dog breed ; the Dachshund! Can you believe it? Who would have ever thought this breed would be more aggressive than say; the Pit?! The number of bites and/or attempted bites award goes to the Dachshund. The cute and cuddly wiener dog has also been known to bite his owner on occasion due to their aggressive nature.

Number Two Most Aggressive Dog Breed: The Chihuahua

Another cute and cuddly dog on the list of most aggressive! The Chihuahua comes in at number two on the aggressive dog breeds list. The Chihuahua, if you have ever been around one, you will notice is quite grouchy and often frightened of his surroundings. The Chihuahua also comes in high on the bite list with a large number of bites and attempted bites toward his owner.

Breed misconceptions

Breed misconceptions are extremely common. Breeds like the Pit bull are below average on the bite list and are often thought to be the most aggressive dog breed. Can you rent a house with a Pit as your furry companion? The most common answer to that question is; no, you cannot. Due to the misconceptions of the most aggressive dog breeds, many dogs are discriminated against and not permitted in many dwellings.
